Second Sitting
Another River Market Stanger
Ive seen this young lady at the River Market frequently. I was having a moment with my camera were I couldn’t get it to do what I wanted. Finally I got the settings right and I looked up and she was watching me. I pointed at the camera she smiled and I clicked. A bit soft. Just finished making a print to bring to her.

You don’t have to go on safari.
After Watching a Kelby Training video @KelbyTraining
Well I watched a couple of Kelby Training video’s and after watching Moose Peterson’s video twice, I decided it was time to give it a shot. I was disappointed when I discovered I couldn’t afford to rent the fancy lens he used, but I’ve got a 100-300 and I tried to use it to it’s fullest. These are three of my first attempts. It’s a whole different perspective laying at their level and not looking down at the birds.
I will have to get some biggar cards, though. I filled up those old 2gig CF cards REAL fast. I think a couple of higher speed 16 gig’s will fit into the budget.
These photo’s were taken in the afternoon of a Word Wide Photo Walk in Destin FL. I was disappointed in the morning, because I don’t seem to have an eye for street stuff, and def not for artistic work. I’ll post some other of those pics later. I was very happy with how I progressed over the afternoon with the shore birds though. I”m learning about exposure compensation and to take into account the reflected light.
World Wide Photo Walk & Others Peoples Stuff
Next weekend I’m attending on of Scott Kelby’s world wide Photo Walks. I’m taking the family, going to spend the whole weekend in Destin, FL. I’ve rented a Canon 7D so daughter can use mine and I can play with a higher level camera than the one I’ve got. Will have to share lenses though.
I’m slowly motivating myself to get out and shoot some more.
Last night I went to 1st friday at the Railroad Square Art Park. Had fun, should have work shorts I had forgotten how humid it is in FL.
I looked at other photographers work and again, If I ever get my but out of bed, I can do as “technically” competent work as the people selling there. I just don’t have a decent enough body of work to really set up shop. I’m hoping my motivation holds here.
